AMD Processor "Forced" to 7.38 GHz

Manufacturer computer peripheral Micro-Star International (MSI) from Taiwan announced success in carving a record for the highest operating frequency of the processor AMD A10-5800K at 7.38 GHz.

Speed is obtained using a technique  in which the processor  overclocking forced to  work beyond its specifications with the help of extreme cooling to reduce heat generated.

In this case, the cooling used  is liquid nitrogen. The temperature hit 200 degrees below 0 Celsius (-200 degrees C).

MSI install AMD A10-5800K processor on the motherboard FM2-A85XA-G65, with the amount of voltage 1.968 V. Multiplier to 62x improved processor speed, while the bus speed figure was pegged at 119.11 MHz. RAM used is G.Skill 4 GB DDR3 with frequency 794.1 MHz (9-9-9-24).

To achieve such a high speed, two of the four processor cores on AMD A10-5800K is disabled. It is common practice to explore the potential of overclocking a processor.

AMD A10-5800K is the top model of the processor family desktop A-Series Accelerated Processing Unit, also known by the code "Trinity". This processor combines the four core CPU  with integrated graphics processor Radeon HD 7660D.

Although higher than the results of overclocking the processor Intel Core i7-3770K had previously managed to reach speeds of 7.18 GHz on Asus motherboard, the frequency rate AMD A10-5800K overclocked does not necessarily reflect a higher performance computing.
